The annual call is open to innovators who want to change the course of their future and ours. Wild Card provides world-class training and mentoring, and the opportunity to create a venture with up to €1.5 million investment (grant-for-option).

Apply with or without a big idea if you have clinical expertise, top technical skills or business know-how combined with a passion for the challenge topics.
JUNE-JULY 2021
Deep Dive
Admitted participants start the journey, complete their teams and with support of mentors develop a business proposal and pitch to secure their place in the next stage.
SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 2021
Validate
Shortlisted teams begin a 9-week programme led by industry experts to validate the business proposals and pitch to the EIT Health Panel in late October 2021.
JANUARY 2022
Venture
Up to two chosen teams will receive EIT Health support, resources and €1.5 million investment (grant-for-option) over the next two years to develop and establish their businesses.

Harnessing biophotonics and artificial intelligence to unlock new possibilities in Alzheimer’s drug discovery. iLoF is creating a pathway which promotes breakthroughs in Alzheimer's disease research.

PIPRA
Disorientation, memory loss and speech difficulties are some of the symptoms of post-operative cognitive complications in the over-60s. PIPRA, short for Pre-interventional Preventative Risk Assessment, is developing a risk score in-app intervention for pre and post-operative patients.

The two chosen ventures will embed themselves in a Wild Card incubator of their choosing in Europe. Wild Card is not just a project, teams will need to relocate and focus full-time on building their new start-up with support from EIT Health, the largest healthcare network in Europe.
